Nine ways to help Ukrainian refugees
A working list of the groups responding to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine
World Central Kitchen is why I’m headed to Poland later this month. It’s also just one of the myriad organizations, both on the ground and from afar, responding to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The list that follows just scratches the surface of who’s doing what to help. If I’ve missed one that you hold dear — and surely I have — please add in the comments. Even if the war ended tomorrow, the need will be immense for months — and years — to come.
CARE, the international relief agency, has set up a Ukraine Crisis Fund.

The Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Krakow, Poland is offering assistance on multiple levels — as a distribution point for food and clothing and meal center, daycare and counseling for displaced women and children and housing for displaced Ukrainians — regardless of faith, to name a few. Learn more here.
Mercy Corps is on the ground in Ukraine, Romania and Poland and partnering with local humanitarian agencies. Learn more here.
NATAN Worldwide Disaster Relief: Providing medical care and trauma intervention for refugees at the Polish-Ukrainian border. Learn more here.

One more thing: My friend Sheryl in Seattle learned about Women Take the Wheel, a carpool group by women for women at the Polish-Ukrainian border. Read the New York Times story here. Please let us know in the comments if you know how to donate to their efforts. And feel free to add your picks for Ukrainian relief — the more the merrier.
